Army Combat Action Badge News!!!

H.R. 2267 would expand retroactive eligibility of the Army Combat Action Badge to include members of the Army who participated in combat during which they personally engaged, or were personally engaged by, the enemy at any time on or after December 7, 1941.

Authorizes the Secretary of the Army to award the Army Combat Action Badge to any member of the Army who participated in combat during which the person actually engaged, or was personally engaged by, the enemy at any time between December 7, 1941, and September 18, 2001, as long as such person has not been previously recognized for such participation.

Latest Major Action: 6/28/2007: Referred to House subcommittee. Status: Referred to the Subcommittee on Military Personnel.

Message to TF 2-34 Desert Storm Veterans


John Sack (1930 - 2004)

John Sack, a founder of literary journalism and a war correspondent in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Yugoslavia, and Afghanistan, has died in San Francisco of complications from a transplant for myelodysplasia, a bone-marrow cancer.  Mr. Sack was with 2-34 Armor during Desert Storm.  He wrote as series of articles and a book about the battalion.  John Sack was 74.


Dedication

 This web site is dedicated to all the Dreadnoughts of the 2nd Battalion, 34th Armor, the units that fought with the Dreadnoughts during Desert Storm in Task Force 2-34, and all of the soldiers that served their country before, during and after Desert Storm. Your dedication and service will never be truly appreciated or understood by those who never served with the unit. Those of us who were there with you , are the only living individuals who can truly say, without reservation, that we KNOW what you experienced and what you endured. Regardless of what your M.O.S. was or what you actually did support your brothers in arms, Thank You!
